Harriette's Song

We all have a voice. The question is, will you find
your song?

The Reason We Must Sing

Children are among the most vulnerable members of society and
are the most affected by poverty. Yet, today’s children are future
leaders – at family, community, national and international levels.

Consider the fact that one billion children in developing countries are
denied one or more of their rights to survival, health and nutrition,
education or protection and around 700 million children are suffering
from the loss of two or more of these rights1. If this scale of child poverty
is not addressed now it will have a serious impact on the future of
developing countries. Because poor, malnourished and uneducated
children grow up to be poor, unhealthy and uneducated adults.

One example is Cambodia where, according to UNESCO's statistics,
an estimated 19 percent of girls were enrolled in secondary school in
2006 compared with 30 percent of the country's boys. Recovering from
decades of war, Cambodia is one of Asia's poorest countries, where 35
percent of the population suffered from malnutrition in 2004.

But, you can make a difference in changing the world’s tune. Through
the support of Harriette’s Song, these children are able to find hope
and purpose. By partnering with indigenous communities to help build
children’s schools and homes, we are bringing support and education
– and hope.

We are searching every day for people who share our mission. We who believe that it is possible to transform the lives of impoverished children. We invite you to share your song.
